Description

PLC is a leading ELC to Year 12 Christian independent day and boarding school with a focus on the  development of the whole person that includes an outstanding academic tradition, an international outlook and strong pastoral and co-curricular programs.

The Role

This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual with genuine interest and experience in supporting the care and wellbeing of teenagers to join a team who are committed to creating a safe and happy ‘home away from home’ for our boarders.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until the end of the 2024 year, where you will work a 7-day roster rotation that includes three sleepovers per week.

As part of a close-knit, highly collaborative Boarding House team, together you will plan, prepare and execute a range of activities and processes to enrich the boarders’ day to day life in the Boarding House, support their sense of community engagement and contribute to their holistic development.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting teenagers in a residential environment, or in an education, welfare or health setting.

You have well-developed skills to relate positively with young people, including administering pastoral care, building trusting and healthy relationships, and monitoring their progress from an academic, social and emotional perspective.

You show calm and considerate communication, have excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to respect confidentiality and privacy of boarders, parents and members of the College community.

If you are ready to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and create lasting memories within a thriving boarding community, we invite you to apply!

All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards. The successful candidate will be required to hold and maintain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) for Employees.

Applications close 5pm Wednesday 27 March 2024.

Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as the interview process may commence prior to the application closing date.
