St John’s Owlerton, in partnership with Centenary Project are looking for a Children, Youth & Families’ Worker to join their ministry team.

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Children Youth and Families’ Worker, employed at St John’s Church, Owlerton in Sheffield.

We are looking for a committed Christian with experience in working with Children Youth and Families’ to join our ministry team. The post-holder will develop and co-ordinate this ministry at St John’s, helping us to be welcoming and make connections with the wider community.

General responsibilities: –

1.1  To co-ordinate the children, Youth and families’ ministry at St John’s Owlerton, developing new opportunities for families to engage with the church

1.2  To recruit, train and equip a team of volunteers to support the work with children and families

1.3  To be a member of the Centenary Project Network

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: 3 years initially
